POST SMOKING WAKE UP EXERCISE

Acknowledge the feeling and get yourself out of that mode
by getting into the present moment. When you are upset
and want a cigarette, a drink or junk food, your brain is in the
left-brain mode. It demands gratification. Such negative thoughts
need not lead to action. The following exercise will get you into
the present

Everyone needs a stop sign to get in the present moment and appraise the situation. If you are driving a car to a familiar area and not watching your driving, you are not in the present moment. If the car in front of you stops suddenly and you almost crash, the stop sign puts you in the present moment. Coaches for sports teams often call timeouts to get the players in the present moment. It works for them and it will work for you.

When you hum you are stimulating the right brain (creative brain). When you count you are stimulating the left brain (analyzing brain). It is as if you turned your windshield wipers on in the rain. Now your window is clear to see what is really happening.

To connect the two sides of the brain, you move your eyes around the room. This stimulated the optic nerve that sits between the two sides and makes them one unit.

To reverse the thought, you need a motor. Tapping on your hand over a strong acupuncture point (between the fourth and fifth finger) does the job. The thought for gratification loses its intensity for 4-6 hours and you are now in control and in the present moment.

DOING THE OF YOUR RIGHT HAND OVER THE BACK

TAP 5 TIMES WITH BOTH YOUR HANDS ON YOUR COLLAR BONE (LIKE TARZAN)

TAP BETWEEN YOUR EYEBROWS 5 TIMES (LIKE BLESSING YOURSELF)

COMMENT: Doing this lowers the intensity of any negative thought and lasts 4-6 hours. When something is disturbing, it is like a black cloud in your brain that prevents other thoughts from being processed. Moving your eyes opens a partition between both sides of the brain. Tapping on your hand works like a motor or fan that disperses the black cloud throughout the brain and makes it disappear.
